Vianeth Pinto, Sales Area Manager at ALPLA Venezuela

Vianeth Pinto reflects on her almost three decades with ALPLA.

Hi Vianeth, thanks for taking your time. What does a typical workday look like for you?

I love working at ALPLA. Every day here is different — there’s always something new to do or learn. There’s no such thing as a “typical” day — and that’s exactly what I love. I can start the morning with a well-structured plan, and by the afternoon, new challenges arise that shift priorities. It keeps me on my toes, constantly learning and adapting.

What do you find most interesting about working at ALPLA?

ALPLA is always evolving — and so are the people in it. I appreciate the continuous transformation, the challenges, and especially the collaborative spirit in our region. There is a great openness to cooperation and problem-solving. When an issue comes up, I know I can count on colleagues who are always willing to help.
I’ve worked in various roles, which has broadened my perspective. The company also invests in tools like the e-Academy, which help us grow not just as professionals but as human beings. With over 200 plants worldwide and still expanding, ALPLA truly feels like a global family.

You are currently in a commercial position. What is it like for you to interact with customers? What do you like most about commercial dynamics?

What I enjoy most is being the middle ground — the point of balance between the customer and our operations. To achieve the best outcome, we need to understand both perspectives and use that insight to find the most effective solution.

What has been your favorite project or task at ALPLA so far?

One project I’m proud of is the compression caps system we delivered last year. Projects like this usually take 12 to 18 months, but our team achieved it in just eight months. That kind of teamwork and determination is what defines ALPLA.

How do you promote entrepreneurial thinking and initiative within your team?

I strongly believe that the more knowledge people have about their area, the better they will perform — and the more prepared they’ll be to make sound decisions and grow within the company.
I try to empower people to think for themselves. When someone comes to me with a challenge, I often ask, “What would you do?” This encourages them to reflect, propose solutions, and take ownership. I aim to create an environment where ideas are welcome and growth is possible — because that’s how we develop strategic thinkers and future leaders.

We would also like to show a little bit of the person behind the job, so please allow some more personal questions. Tell us a little bit about what you like to do in your free time.

In my free time, I love to travel — especially to destinations with beaches, where I can practice one of my favorite activities: snorkeling. On weekends, I do yoga, take Latin dance classes, walk in the park, and enjoy time with my family. Balance is essential, and I treasure the quiet moments too.

Name four things on your bucket list.

Professionally, I’d love the opportunity to work for a few months at an ALPLA plant in another country. Experiencing new cultures and learning new ways of working would be invaluable. I also hope to leave a legacy to the team — not just as a strong professional, but as someone remembered for her integrity, teamwork, and ability to inspire.
Personally, once I retire, I dream of living by the sea. And visiting every country in the world is still on my list — there’s so much I want to see.

Back to ALPLA: What advice would you give to new employees?

Give 100% of who you are and what you know — and love what you do. That passion is the foundation for everything.
Ask questions. Never hesitate to seek help. Use every tool available, because there’s always more to learn. Continuous learning is essential.

Please describe ALPLA in your own three words.

Leader. Visionary. Family.

What should we probably have asked you?

I’d like to highlight the reality we face in Venezuela. It’s not always a level playing field — there are limitations. But access to technology and communication tools has opened doors for us. We can share our work, connect with other teams, and show what we’re capable of.These tools bring visibility, opportunity, and unity. They help us feel part of something bigger — a true global family. And that’s exactly what ALPLA is.
"I’m proud to be an ALPLERO, as we say in Venezuela!"
