Sustainable buckets pay off

ALPLAindustrial manufactures buckets from up to 100 percent post-consumer recycled material (PCR). This is now guaranteed by the RecyClass certificate – which in turn exempts customers from the plastic tax.

ALPLA Industrial

The circular economy conserves resources. It is the order of the day in many industries. Whether in construction, the chemical industry or logistics, packaging solutions made from recycled material reduce the carbon footprint. Plastic is ideal for this purpose. With its own recycling line, ALPLAindustrial offers sustainable alternatives for buckets of all kinds. Custom-fit closures and customisable decoration using in-mould labelling (IML) make this sustainable complete packaging solution perfect.

The innovative oval and round-corner buckets are made from up to 100 per cent PCR material. Other standard options include 50, 70 and 99 per cent PCR content. This means that ALPLAindustrial products already meet all future packaging requirements in the EU. Independent verification is now provided by the RecyClass certificate. "PCR will be mandatory for all industries in Europe from 2030. Manufacturers must adapt to this and repackage their products. We are enabling them to make the switch immediately. This saves time and money," says Oliver Baumgärtel, Key Account Manager at ALPLAindustrial.

Green light from RecyClass

ALPLA has been a pioneer in recycling for many years. Long-standing partnerships with established suppliers ensure the supply of high-quality recycled PP (rPP). With the traceability certificate from RecyClass, ALPLAindustrial is taking the next step and officially certifying its PCR content. This internationally recognised certification brings transparency to the supply chain and exempts distributors from the plastics tax. As part of the assessment and audit, products and material samples were analysed and processes, documentation and storage were checked.

The certificate is valid for one year and allows ALPLAindustrial to label its products as containing 50, 70, 99 and 100% recycled plastic. ‘We have proven our expertise in practice and enjoy the trust of our customers. With the RecyClass audit, we also provide independent proof. This gives our customers an excellent argument vis-à-vis consumers and authorities,’ says Baumgärtel.

ALPLAindustrial benefits from the ALPLA Group's experience in the development and processing of sustainable large-format packaging solutions. ‘Design for recycling is our premise. This leads to sustainable packaging with a reduced carbon footprint. The combination of PP/rPP buckets and IML decoration with PP films enables smooth recycling,’ emphasises Baumgärtel.
