Best result for ALPLA

With 85 points in the latest EcoVadis rating, ALPLA has achieved a new record high and significantly improved its score compared to the previous year. The leap into the top 3 per cent worldwide demonstrates that the ongoing development of our sustainability management is also reflected in the rating. For ALPLA, EcoVadis is more than just an accolade: the rating is used by customers to assess our sustainability management and our initiatives, and also plays a role in the evaluation of key suppliers. EcoVadis is therefore relevant throughout the entire value chain.

Significant improvement in three out of four areas

The improvements are particularly evident in the areas of the environment, ethics, and labour and human rights. Progress was particularly marked in the areas of the environment and ethics. Contributing factors included improved risk analyses in the areas of compliance and IT security, as well as the adoption of an industry-specific code of conduct. The first external audit of the sustainability report also had a positive impact on the rating.

Miklos Toth, Head of Sustainability at ALPLA

“Our best result to date and the move into the top 3% of all companies assessed worldwide show that our sustainability strategy is having an impact. This result reflects the efforts of many employees around the world and, at the same time, motivates us to continue consistently on our path.”

Miklós Tóth, Head of Sustainability at ALPLA

The result of a cross-functional team effort

This outcome is the result of close collaboration across many functions and countries. In particular, Corporate Sustainability was involved, along with the teams and subject matter experts from Environment and Energy, Human Resources, and Health & Safety, Compliance, Integrated Management Systems, IT Security and Procurement. Together, they have further developed data quality, guidelines, risk analyses and supporting documentation, thereby laying the foundations for ALPLA’s best-ever EcoVadis rating.
