ALPLA creates new position of Chief Engagement Officer

Vagish Dixit henceforth responsible for customer and market management

 

The current Managing Director of ALPLA India, Vagish Dixit, has been appointed Chief Engagement Officer of the ALPLA Group with immediate effect. In this newly created position, he will be responsible for consolidating existing and forging new business relations for the company. One of his focal areas will be identifying market opportunities and potential, both in established markets and in markets in which ALPLA is not yet active.

ALPLA is a preferred partner around the world for innovative and sustainable packaging solutions. In the future, we want to be even more proactive in our collaboration with existing and potential customers,’ says Vagish Dixit. He sees close collaboration between the customers, the regions and the innovation experts at the corporate level as a key success factor, and he will be strengthening this network in his new position. He will be focusing in particular on the areas of sustainability and recycling.

As part of his new responsibilities, Vagish Dixit will also become a member of the ALPLA Innovation Board. He will additionally continue to manage India as a region, but will be restructuring his responsibilities in this area. He will continue to work out of Hyderabad, India. He will report in his new capacity to ALPLA CEO Günther Lehner.

Vagish speaks five languages, has an MBA from the USA and founded his first company back in 1984. He has been the Managing Director of and a partner for ALPLA India since 2006. ALPLA India has rolled out numerous technological innovations over the past 14 years. Some of them were global innovations, such as two-component injection moulding using cube technology and the extrusion blow moulding (EBM) of tubes. Vagish´s other engagements include being on the Board of Directors of the Indian Institute of Packaging.

Vagish is a keen proponent of education for the disadvantaged. Among other things, he has been the President of Round Table India, a non-profit organisation for young professionals. Under his leadership, ALPLA India was presented with the Bengt Lindqvist Award by York University and other NGOs for its initiative to employ more people with disabilities. He is currently a member of the Management Board of the Round Table Foundation, a non-profit foundation which promotes education for the disadvantaged.
